Spanish Navy to procure a new anti-ship and land attack missile system via NSPA

LUXEMBOURG – The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) will procure a new anti-ship missile and land-attack system for the Spanish Navy.

Through the establishment of an outline agreement, NSPA will procure the Naval Strike Missile for the Spanish Navy. The new missiles will be integrated on the new F-110 Frigates (under construction) and will replace the ageing RGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missiles in service on the F-100 Álvaro de Bazán-class frigates as part of their Mid-Life Upgrade Programme.

The Naval Strike Missile is a long-range, precision strike weapon that seeks and destroys targets at sea or land at great distance. The missile travels at high subsonic speed (Mach 0.9) and has a range greater than 100 nautical miles.

Its guidance system combines GPS Aided Inertial System (GPSINS) and Terrain Contour Matching (TERCOM).

The procurement will be executed via the NSPO Ammunition Support Partnership
