LUXEMBOURG - The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has awarded a contract to Bohemia Interactive Simulations , on behalf of Belgium, to integrate the Spike LR Anti-Tank Guided Missile into Virtual Battlespace Simulator (VBS 3).
The Virtual Battlespace Simulator is a desktop trainer that enables armies to do tactical training, experimentation and mission rehearsals before executing them in the field.
The upgrade will enhance the current visual representation of the Spike LR system to a higher fidelity model. NSPA's contractor will also implement range, flight path and firing modes of the missile. This will allow the gunner to take part in scenarios in a more realistic manner.
The software development will take 8 months, including interim tests and acceptance by Belgium. The final delivery is planned in November and instructor training in scheduled for December 2022.
