NSPA takes over transportation support for the NATO E-3A Component routine and contingency operations

LUXEMBOURG - From 1 January 2022, the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) is providing passengers and cargo transportation in support to the NATO E-3A Component routine and contingency operations.

The E-3A Component is part of the NATO Airborne Early Warning & Control Force (NAEW&C Force) and provides the Alliance with an immediately available airborne command and control, air and maritime surveillance and battle-space management capability in support of our Alliance's deterrence mission. For the E-3A Component assured cargo and passenger transport services support is essential to deploy, especially within the tasked readiness times.

This project is now in the execution phase as the first shipment has been delivered on 14 January 2022 through truck transportation from Geilenkirchen to Trapani, Italy, while the first combined cargo and passengers flight occurred on 19 January 2022.

Operations are managed by NSPA staff, collocated within the NAEW&C Force at the Main Operating Base in Geilenkirchen, Germany.
