LUXEMBOURG - The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), as the executing agent for the NATO-Ukraine Medical Rehabilitation Trust Fund, supports the participation of Ukraine's National Team in Warrior Games 2022, held in Orlando (Florida, USA) from 19 to 28 August 2022.
Through the NATO-Ukraine Medical Rehabilitation Trust Fund managed by NSPA, Ukraine's Warrior Games team, made of 40 injured active-duty Ukrainian soldiers and veterans, was able to travel to the United States to participate in this sporting event for the first time.
Since it began in 2016, the NATO-Ukraine Medical Rehabilitation Trust Fund has assisted more than 2,500 wounded soldiers in their physical, psychological and vocational rehabilitation. The programme has also made a significant contribution to increasing the capacity of Ukraine's medical rehabilitation system to provide care for wounded personnel, including through training key rehabilitation staff and providing state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment to hospitals across the country.
Since 2017, NSPA has also supported Ukrainian soldiers' participation in the Invictus Games, a multinational sporting event using the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women.
