NSPA awards contract for LAW M72 Rocket systems

LUXEMBOURG - The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has recently awarded a three-year Outline Agreement for the acquisition of Light Antitank Weapon (LAW) M72 rocket systems. The contract meets upcoming large requirements on shoulder-launched munitions from NATO and Partner Nations.

The M72 rocket system is a disposable, easy to operate, lightweight and powerful shoulder-launched munition. The system is widely used across 13 NATO nations. The outline agreement covers various models of the M72 system's family, including Enhanced Capacity (EC), Anti-Structure (ASM), training launchers, ammunitions and spare parts.

NSPA has proven to be a reliable partner for the procurement of antitank rocket systems, covering a wide spectrum of close combat infantry ammunition. These projects are supported by the NATO Land Battle Decisive Munitions (LBDM) initiative. The Agency has contracts in place covering DND's RGW-90 and upcoming ones to cover SAAB's AT-4 & 84mm Carl Gustav types.

In 2022 only, the Agency received LAW M72 procurement requirements for a value of 120MEUR. With this new contract, NSPA stands ready to support 26 NATO nations and partners with successful procurement projects, through the Ammunition Support Partnership, within the Support to Operations Directorate.
