Luxembourg - NSPA successfully concluded the procurement of Night Vision & Optoelectronics (NVO) equipment, associated training and documentation for the Tactical Air Control Party and Forward Observer programme for Lithuania. The equipment was delivered to Lithuania between May and August 2020.
Lithuanian Armed Forces Forward Observers (FO) teams were equipped with Safran Electronics & Defense multifunctional cameras, true north finder, binoculars, celestial body orientation module, IR spectrum markers, strobe marker light, handheld computer
Lithuanian Armed Forces Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) teams were equipped with Safran Electronics & Defense multipurpose target locator, multifunctional camera, laser target designator, IR spectrum marker, strobe marker light, handheld computer.
Despite the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic, NSPA was able to minimize delays to comply with customer requirements. Trainings took place in Kaunas, Lithuania, with sanitary measures in place. This enabled FO and TACP teams to practice with the equipment and achieve operational readiness.
NSPA provides acquisition and life cycle support to NATO Nations through the Night Vision and Optoelectronics (NVO) Support Partnership, which currently comprises Luxembourg, Denmark, Greece and The Netherlands.
