Official Opening Ceremony for Pediatrics & Women's Wellness Centre (PWWC) in Afghanistan

In June 2019, NSPA's Construction Branch completed the construction project of the Pediatrics & Women's Wellness Centre (PWWC). The PWWC is located inside the Kabul National Military Hospital compound in Kabul, Afghanistan.

This is the most comprehensive pediatric facility in Afghanistan. It provides much needed modernised facilities for the health and welfare of the women of Afghanistan. The official opening ceremony was held 01st of October 2019 and was attended by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani accompanied by the First Lady, Rula Ghani.

This was a NATO Afghan National Army Trust Fund Office (NATFO) Project and the donor Nation was Italy. The Project Lead was Mr Ralf GRYWNOW, NSPA Senior Technical Officer.

Contract award took place in December 2017. Following a 5-month period of mobilisation, site demolition works and access preparation, construction work started in May 2018 and was completed in June 2019. The contracted works had a value of approximately 8.5 million dollars.
