The NATO Airlift Management (NAM) Programme Board
- It is the governing body of the NAM Programme
- It is composed of one permanent representative of each NAM member nation
- It exercises overall responsibility for the guidance, execution and oversight of the NAM Programme in accordance with the NATO Support and Procurement Organisation (NSPO) Charter
- It is not responsible for operations; this latter role is performed by the Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW), a multinational military unit outside the NATO military command structure
The Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) Steering Board
- It is the governing body of the SAC Program
- It is composed of one ore more permanent representative of each SAC participating nation
- It exercises overall responsibility for the guidance, execution and oversight of the SAC Program (includes operations) in accordance with the SAC Memorandum of Understanding
- It formulates operational requirements and communicates them to the NAM Programme Board for execution
